Meet the speakers for this years UK Brownfield Regeneration Summit
​Mark is an award winning urban designer with wide ranging experience delivering challenging masterplanning and public realm projects throughout the UK. Marks work spans across many aspects of design and development, including city centre strategy, high street renewal, public realm and brownfield regeneration. Mark takes a collaborative approach to the design and delivery of complex city and town centre regeneration sites, including recent work including major transformational projects in Greater Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Ross is Environment Analyst’s Managing Director, tasked with ensuring our passionate team helps to deliver Environment Analyst’s mission and purpose to connect the environmental, ESG and professional services community and provide the intelligence to deliver a sustainable transition.
Ross has spent over a decade developing strong relationships with global environmental business leaders through interviews, roundtables and events in order to better understand the opportunities and challenges this industry faces. Through this he has become uniquely aware of the dynamics that shape the AEC industry.
Combined with his academic studies in environmental sciences Ross provides a lens into how ESG drivers interact with the business environment.

Cameron joined Environment Analyst in 2024 as a Senior Analyst, having spent several years in energy decarbonisation consulting, where he latterly managed regulatory compliance projects for clients in the UK public sector.
Cameron has progressed to Editor and Senior Analyst, and he coordinates the analyst team's market intelligence outputs across the UK, US, and global markets.
Experience in a data-driven consulting team coupled with writing and editing experience at Environment Analyst give Cameron a broad skillset and the ability to communicate a range of topics with clarity.

Alan is a chartered town planner and member of the Build-to-Rent Alliance. He specialises in higher density urban living and mixed-use development, managing projects from due diligence and appraisal to pre-application negotiation, consultation, submission, consent and delivery. His recent experience includes the redevelopment of Borough Triangle in Southwark and Cotton Quay in Salford. He has previously advised on the regeneration of Greenwich Peninsula, the redevelopment of Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre and the extension of Westfield Stratford City.

Linda Raynor

Linda Raynor is a Director and provides support to local authorities unlocking housing development in order to assist them in meeting their regeneration and housing growth objectives.

Her work has recently included the launching of small sites pilots, providing an options appraisal and strategy for unlocking small brownfield sites which can play an important role in meeting local housing needs.​
Linda is a Chartered Planning and Development Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience acting on behalf of public and private sector clients on a wide variety of regeneration and development projects. She has held senior positions at leading property firms DTZ, Grimley, King Sturge, and Arcadis where she developed expertise in leading multi-disciplinary teams and in the preparation of masterplans, development feasibility studies, financial appraisal, funding and delivery mechanisms.

Linda has a first class Masters degree in Urban Regeneration and is a Member of the Institute of Economic Development.
Gareth is a Chartered Scientist and member of CIWEM and has 20 years’ experience of working within the land development and regeneration sector for both private sector developers and large multidiscipline consultancies. He now manages Homes England’s internal technical team, who’s primary responsibility is to manage, review and challenge prospective and current Homes England projects from a technical delivery perspective from pre-acquisition, through to land disposal.

Using her skills in placemaking, strategy and communication, Lindsay works across the NW & WM region to deliver the innovative One Public Estate Programme. A partnership between the Local Government Association, OGP (Cabinet Office), and MHCLG, in this role she promotes collaboration between public sector partners to repurpose surplus public estate to kickstart regeneration, transform public service delivery, and unlock sites for new homes.

Her wide spanning career across the public and private sectors as an urban designer, chartered town planner, and programme manager, incorporates a demonstrable track record of leading and delivering a portfolio including property, masterplanning, development, and design projects. Also as a keen supporter of education and advocate for citizen interaction with the built environment, Lindsay is currently a Design Council Design Expert, RIBA Places Matter Design Review Panel Member, Salford Design Review Forum Member, PLACED Mentor and tutor at the University of Salford, having previously chaired the RTPI NW Region.

Chris is a land contamination professional with over 20 years of industry experience, including time spent within multi-disciplinary consultancy as well as with the Environment Agency and a local authority. Specialising in liability management for challenging brownfield sites and infrastructure schemes, Chris brings proven experience of solving complex land contamination challenges via promoting collaboration and technical excellence.
In his current role as Growth Lead at Arcadis, Chris is passionate about building successful client relationships, founded on trust, quality and value. Working across multiple industry sectors, Chris leads in developing tailored and value-driven solutions and building a client-centric team.

Michael is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Member of the Association for Project Management. Michael spent nearly twenty years in multi-disciplinary consultancies, providing services to a range of public and private sector clients within the defence, education, police and land development and remediation sectors. This included the project management and directing of large multi-disciplinary teams and specific contract administration work on building and civil engineering/remediation contracts.
Michael’s role within Harworth Group is to provide technical, programme and project management advice and oversight on acquisition and development projects. He is also involved in building and maintaining longer term relationships and undertaking due diligence on strategic land opportunities. His role covers technical input throughout the full project cycle from acquisition, through planning and delivery. This includes preparing and implementing strategies for long-term divestment, maintenance, and site completion.

With over 26 years’ experience in biodiversity conservation and business development, Vikki is an award-winning Biodiversity Technical Specialist and skilled negotiator leading change across development industries and government institutions to meet the biodiversity agenda. Specialising in Biodiversity Net Gain (since 2016) and Nature Positive, Vikki develops bespoke solutions for UK and international clients to meet Biodiversity Strategy ambitions. She supports clients' delivery against corporate biodiversity targets and reporting, and alignment with global frameworks including Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN).
Vikki has worked as a Biodiversity Consultant and Scientific Researcher on projects in the UK (Scotland, England), Middle East (Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain) and Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa). She undertakes environmental due diligence with a view to minimising biodiversity and wider environmental impacts from development and wider industry. With extensive experience in the private sector, Vikki has a deep understanding of business drivers and is adept at finding agreeable solutions among stakeholders to enable biodiversity, and wider ecosystem services, wins.
Michael Eaglestone is a Principal Planning Officer in Sheffield City Council’s Major Development and City Centre Team.
He has worked in planning for 20 years in both the fields of minerals and waste and general major development management with experience of a wide range of development projects including both greenfield and brownfield major housing, commercial, industrial minerals and waste project.

Huw joined HS2 in March 2022 as Old Oak Common Project Client and is now Director – Stations & Placemaking. Prior to this he held various senior roles on major rail schemes in London and the South-East, all joined by the thread of social and economic regeneration.
His experience spans the design and construction of the Docklands Light Railway, Jubilee Line Extension, Channel Tunnel Rail and modernisation of London Underground stations. Huw was the first Advance Works Project Manager for Crossrail / Elizabeth line, whilst at the same time being the overall Project Manager for Crossrail Line 2. Huw then spent nine years in the team that created the London Overground network and six years managing a series of Network Rail signalling and electrification programmes.
Most recently, Huw was MTR Corporation’s Programme Director supporting the Crossrail / Elizabeth line delivery into service.
Sarah is a senior regeneration professional with over 20 years’ experience in local government. In her role at Salford City Council, she plays a key part in driving the city’s ambitious growth and regeneration agenda, working closely with public and private sector partners to unlock delivery.
Her work spans the development of Salford’s growth pipeline, shaping place‑based strategies, overseeing regeneration programmes, and coordinating partnership‑led approaches to bring forward sites for development. Sarah has particular experience in aligning funding, governance, and delivery mechanisms to support the implementation of large‑scale regeneration projects and deliver sustainable, inclusive growth across the City of Salford.

Liz is a passionate Sustainability and Environmental professional specialising in the Circular Economy and Resource Management. Throughout her career she has championed the sustainable reuse of soils and materials in development. Liz develops holistic site wide solutions for materials and waste management and works with clients to bring soils into the spotlight during the planning and design of projects to identify practical and achievable results to maximise sustainability gains. Her active involvement with the Environmental Industries Commission and CL:AIRE Technology and Research Group reflects her commitment to advancing environmental best practice.

Martin is Group Head of Environment for Wates, the built environment contracting, property retrofit/maintenance and development company. He leads on Circular Economy, working with its supply chain partners on material recovery, water efficiency, soils and stones material reuse, remediation and waste conformance, as well as Natural Environment TNFD and BNG legacy. Martin’s purpose is to help people across all disciplines understand the part that they can play for both a sustainable future and their resilience for changing environments.

Martin is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Fellow of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) and a Chartered Manager (CMgr). He chairs the CIWM Built Environment Strategic Experts Group for Construction, Demolition & Excavation Circularity, Resource Efficiency and Waste, representing them on the CLC Green Construction Board. He champions the collaborative potential of CEnv professionals and has led the Society for the Environment (Env) Soils & Stones SandS programme since Sep-19 and the publication of SocEnv’s Soils and Stones Report in Apr-21 and SandS Progress Report in Jun-24. The programme consists of exec and task groups focused on realising the Report’s actions and (as published in Mar23) the Ten Principles for Good Soils & Stones – a cross-sector framework for soil health.
Rebekah Norbury is a Local Authority contaminated land officer working for Cheshire East Council and has been for around fifteen years. Prior to that, she worked for around six years as an environmental consultant specialising in contaminated land.
She is on the NCLOG Steering Committee and is also a Chartered Chemist. As well as land contamination, she also has an interest in air quality and has been assisting Cheshire East Council’s air quality team with their education objectives. When she is able to, she enjoys doing outreach activities in schools relating to her job as she is a STEM Ambassador.

Richard has over eighteen years’ experience in the industry and is a Chartered Environmentalist and Qualified Person under the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste: Code of Practice. He is a specialist in materials reuse and waste permitting as well as contaminated land issues. Richard also sits on the Society Environment Soil and Stones Executive Team.

​Andrew Innes is a Senior Lecturer at SRUC, focusing on soil-water interactions with a particular interest in inorganic pollutants and geospatial statistics. Andrew's current work involves understanding potentially toxic elemental relationships with microbial systems, the remediation of abandoned metalliferous mine tailings, and the micro-scale nesting habitats of mining bees. Andrew's teaching revolves around soil chemistry and statistical approaches to complex environmental problems.

Phil is the Land Contamination Manager in the Environment Agency’s Environment and Business Directorate. Phil provides strategic leadership and manages a team of 20 specialists working across several high-profile work areas related to urban and rural land including contaminated land, abandoned mines, healthy soils and spreading materials to land.
Phil is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner with over 35 years’ experience working as a regulator firstly with Sheffield City Council as an Environmental Health Officer before joining the Environment Agency to head up the EA’s contaminated land programme in 2002.

Dan is a Senior Environmental Advisor in Murphy’s Transportation Division, supporting complex infrastructure projects including railway station upgrades, large-scale embankment works, and major structure renewals. He brings broad experience across construction waste, contaminated land, ecology, and carbon management, with a strong focus on practical delivery.

Before joining Murphy, Dan worked as an Environmental Consultant, specialising in construction waste management, environmental permitting and auditing , primarily for residential and commercial developments across the North West of England.
